Transportation of animals and birds

Transportation of Pets (birds) on aircrafts An-24, An-26 carried out only with the prior consent of the Carrier. From carriage as baggage and carry-on baggage the following are accepted Pets – dogs, cats and birds. Any other animals are accepted for transportation in Luggage and hand baggage and may be transported as cargo.

Transportation of Pets (birds) by air is carried out as registered Luggage (in the baggage-cargo compartment No. 3 of the An-148) or in the cabin of the aircraft upon prior agreement with the Carrier and with the permission of the countries of arrival or transit in international air traffic.

The passenger shall inform the Carrier or its Authorized agent of carriage of Pets (birds) while making the booking of transportation or buying passenger Ticket, but not later than 24 hours before time of departure.

Pet during air transportation must be placed in rigid packing container (wooden, plastic) or metal cage, with access for air and strong lock. The size of the container (cage) should allow the animal to stand up and turn 360 degrees around its axis. The bottom of the container (cage) shall be waterproof and covered with absorbent material on the perimeter of the bottom should be to prevent the spillage of absorbent material. Bird cages should be covered with thick lightproof fabric.

In one container (cage) may be placed no more than three animals of the same litter over 6 months of age.

Transportation of Pets (birds) in the cabin is done only when prior approval of such transportation by the Carrier in the booking system and under condition of transportation of the animal by an adult passenger. Animals must be in containers (cages). The weight of the container (cage) with the animal shall not exceed 8 kg. the size of the container (cage) in the sum of three dimensions (length/width/height) must not exceed 115 cm.

During the flight, the container (cage) with the animal in the cabin must be placed under the seat in front of you. Never place the container (cage) with animal emergency exits, in the aisles, on the Luggage rack. The animal must be inside a closed container (cage) during the whole time of being on Board the aircraft (during the flight, during taxiing, takeoff, landing/landing, etc.).

The passenger carrying a pet (bird) in the air transportation, must have and submit at registration of the passenger Ticket valid documents (certificates) of health of the animal room, issued by the competent authorities in the veterinary sphere, as well as other documents required by countries of flight or transit in international air carriage.

The carrier reserves the right to limit the number of animals transported on the same flight depending on aircraft type, flight path, payload, etc.

In the cabin of the aircraft may be transported no more than two containers (cells) with Pets non-adversarial kinds.

The room of animals (birds) not covered by the norms of free baggage allowance. Transportation of animals is paid at the rate for excess baggage depending on the actual weight of the animal together with the container (cage).

Guide dogs accompanying passengers with lack of sight, carried in the aircraft cabin free of charge in excess of the free baggage allowance, with appropriate training, as certified by the certificate, provided that on such dog a collar and a muzzle, and tied to an armchair at feet of the owner. The passengers with the limited vision accompanied by guide dog, are accommodated in the end of cabin.

Acceptance for carriage of Pets (birds) is subject to the condition that the passenger assumes full responsibility for them. The carrier is not liable for damage caused to third parties by such animals, and shall not be liable to such passenger in case of refusal of the importation or transportation of such animals through any country or territory.

The passenger shall comply with all requirements of Carrier, and shall reimburse the Carrier for all losses and additional costs in case of causing of harm to animals that the aircraft, baggage of other passengers, health and/or life of other passengers.

Animals are accepted for transportation as cargo only when compliance with these Rules, governmental regulations of the countries of departure, transit, transfer and destination, the IATA recommendations “LiveAnimalRegulations”.

Animals are accepted for transportation upon presentation of the Consignor of the documents stipulated by international treaties of the Russian Federation, normative legal acts of the Russian Federation and the legislation of the country, on territory, from territory or through which territory transportation is expected.

The shipper is obliged to provide for the transport of animals strong packagings (containers, transport cages, etc.), allowing convenience in transportation, safety and compliance with sanitary requirements, as well as fastening on Board the aircraft. The shipper is obliged to provide supply of food and drink not provided in case of delay the aircraft EN route.

Laboratory animals, infected with the disease, can be accepted for carriage on passenger flights. Laboratory animals, infected with diseases, not be accepted for carriage.

The carrier may refuse to transport animals, unless it can ensure compliance with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation and other States.
